Collection: Tents & Swags

Frequently Asked Questions

A single swag is small and lightweight, perfect for solo campers. A double swag suits couples or solo campers who want extra space, while a king swag offers maximum width and comfort. Larger swags take up more transport and storage space, so choose the size that matches your vehicle and camping style
Two campers are usually comfortable in a 2- to 3-person tent. A family of four should choose at least a 4- to 6-person tent to allow room for gear, while bigger families benefit from cabin or multi-room tents. Always pick a tent rated for more people than will actually sleep inside for comfort and storage.
Most swags are made from heavy-duty canvas with a PVC floor, making them naturally water-resistant. To improve performance, season your swag before use by soaking and drying it several times. In heavy rain, a tarp or cover adds extra protection and helps keep the swag dry.
Most tents come with a waterproof flysheet and sealed seams to protect against rain. Always check the waterproof rating (measured in millimetres) — higher numbers mean better protection. Using a tarp or groundsheet underneath also helps prevent water from seeping through the tent floor.
Zip all mesh and canvas to keep dirt out, then roll the swag tightly from the foot end to the head, leaving the mattress inside for convenience. Secure it with straps or ties and store it in a dry, ventilated place. This prevents mould, mildew, and damage to the canvas.
A swag is a compact canvas shelter with a built-in mattress, designed for fast setup and rugged outback camping. A tent is larger, lighter to carry for hiking, and offers more headroom and space for families or groups. Swags are best for solo campers, couples, or 4WD touring, while tents are ideal for family camping and longer stays.
