If you're regularly chasing hard-running pelagics like kingfish, amberjack or large tuna on metal jigs, the assist line has to be able to take the strain of a full-speed strike and the subsequent fight without fraying, cutting out or losing shape.
Swimerz Braided Kevlar Assist Line is made from 100% Dupont Kevlar fibre — the same material used in high-performance applications where strength-to-diameter ratio genuinely matters. At 175kg breaking strain and just 1.3mm in diameter, it gives you a line that can handle extreme loads without adding unnecessary bulk to your rig. The low-stretch construction also ensures that when a fish hits, that energy transfers directly rather than being absorbed by stretchy material.
The hollow core is a practical feature for experienced riggers — it lets you use a splicing needle to form clean, strong loops that sit neatly in the rig. If you'd rather keep it simple, the line knots reliably to split rings or solid rings as well. Either way, you've got the flexibility to build assist rigs exactly the way you want them.
The high UV resistance and tough abrasion-resistant braid mean this line stands up to repeated use in saltwater environments without degrading quickly. At 3 metres per pack, there's enough material to build several rigs or cut to your preferred hook-drop lengths for different jig sizes.
