The anodised aluminium body keeps them light enough to clip to a vest or bag without weighing you down, while the anodising helps them resist the corrosion that comes with regular saltwater use. The tungsten steel split ring jaw gives you a secure grip on split rings without the usual frustration of slipping or bent rings.
The centre cutters handle monofilament, braided line and wire leaders cleanly, which is handy when you're trimming leaders or re-rigging in a hurry. They also work well for tightening knots and removing hooks — especially useful when a fish takes the hook deeper than you'd like.
