The material's refractive index closely matches water, making it far less visible to fish than standard monofilament. That near-invisibility pays dividends when you're targeting cautious species in clean estuary water, casting around weed edges, or presenting live bait on a reef where fish have time to inspect the rig.
At 0.47mm and 25lb, the #7.0 spool has enough grunt for mid-range reef species, snapper, jewfish and similar hard-fighting targets without overbuilding your leader for lighter setups. It also sinks roughly four times faster than mono, helping keep your bait or lure in the strike zone without piling on extra weight.
