Krystal Flash works because it does something that standard materials can't — it moves independently, catches light from multiple angles and creates a flickering, pulsing effect that predatory fish associate with a fleeing or injured baitfish. Adding even a few strands to a fly or skirt can dramatically change the way a pattern performs in the water.
At approximately 400mm per strand, Artizan Krystal Flash gives you plenty of length to work with. You can use strands at full length for large predator flies targeting GT or big Snapper, or trim them down for smaller Trout patterns where subtle flash is all that's needed. The twisted mylar construction ensures each strand reflects light differently as it moves, maximising that vital shimmer effect.
Each bundle is cable-tied at the centre and folded in half, which makes separating individual strands clean and easy without tangles. It's a small detail that saves time and frustration at the tying bench — particularly when you're building multiple patterns in a session.
