The Scarpa Cyclone GTX is built around a dual injection sole construction that produces an exoskeleton-like structure around the upper — adding support and protection beyond what a standard direct-injection boot typically delivers. The graded thickness allows a progressive flex pattern through the stride, giving you torsional support without locking up the forefoot.
The waterproof nubuck leather upper (1.6mm) pairs with a GORE-TEX Performance Comfort liner to keep feet dry across wet conditions while still allowing breathability during sustained exertion. Thermo-embossed detailing on the upper isn't just aesthetic — it adds structural control to the critical flex zones without extra bulk.
Underfoot, the bi-density Vibram outsole handles traction across mixed terrain, backed by a low-density PU insert for shock absorption and a medium-density midsole layer for stability.
