    Details
Lugging a big generator to a day trip or weekend campsite is overkill when all you need is enough power to charge devices, run a lamp or keep a small appliance going. The Gentrax 800W Inverter Generator is built for exactly that — compact, lightweight at 8.5kg, and genuinely easy to carry wherever you're headed.

The pure sine wave output is what sets this apart from basic generator options. It delivers clean, stable power that won't damage sensitive electronics like laptops, CPAP machines or phone chargers — the kind of gear you'd normally be cautious about running off a generator.

With a 2.1L fuel tank and a 4-stroke 40cc engine, you get up to 6.1 hours of runtime at 50% load on a single fill of 91 RON petrol. That's enough to get through a full day out or an overnight camp without constantly refuelling. Quiet operation at 58dB (at 7m) means it won't disturb the campsite either.

Built-in low oil protection and overload protection give you peace of mind on the road, while Euro 5 certification keeps it compliant with current emissions standards. A 12V DC output adds extra versatility for direct device charging.

    Frequently Asked Questions

How much power can the Gentrax 800W generator supply?

The Gentrax has a 700W rated output for normal continuous use and an 800W maximum output for short periods. Keep the normal connected load within 700W and allow for any higher start-up demand from motors, compressors or other appliances.

What does pure sine wave mean?

Pure sine wave power closely replicates the smooth AC waveform supplied by normal mains electricity. It is the preferred type of inverter output for sensitive electronics and equipment with electronic controls, including laptops, chargers, televisions and many modern appliances. The connected equipment must still remain within the power source's output limits.

What is the difference between rated power and surge or peak power?

Rated power is the output a generator, inverter or power station is designed to supply continuously during normal operation. Surge or peak power is a higher short-duration output used to handle brief start-up demand from some appliances. The peak figure should not be treated as the continuous operating limit.

Can I use this generator to power sensitive electronics?

Yes. The Gentrax uses pure sine wave inverter technology, making it suitable for compatible sensitive electronics such as laptops, cameras and battery chargers. Keep the total connected load within the generator's output limits.

What fuel does the Gentrax 800W generator use?

It uses 91 RON unleaded petrol and has a 2.1L fuel tank. The 40cc engine is a four-stroke design, so engine oil is stored separately rather than mixed with the fuel.

How long will the Gentrax 800W generator run on a full tank?

Runtime is up to approximately 6.1 hours at 50% load from the 2.1L fuel tank. A heavier electrical load will reduce runtime.

How loud is the Gentrax 800W generator?

The generator is rated at approximately 58dB at 7 metres under the specified test conditions. Noise heard at camp will vary with distance, surroundings and electrical load.

Does the Gentrax 800W generator have a 12V DC output?

Yes. It provides a 12V / 4A DC output in addition to its 240V AC outlet. Only connect equipment that is compatible with the relevant output.

How portable is the Gentrax 800W generator?

It weighs approximately 8.5kg and measures around 395 × 209 × 355mm, making it compact enough for vehicle-based camping, day trips and other portable-power setups.

Can I use a petrol generator inside a tent, caravan or enclosed area?

No. Petrol generators produce carbon monoxide, an invisible and potentially deadly gas. Never operate a fuel-powered generator inside a tent, caravan, vehicle, shed or other enclosed or partly enclosed space. Operate it outdoors in a well-ventilated location and follow the manufacturer's instructions for safe clearance from occupied areas, doors and windows.

What happens if I connect too much equipment to the generator?

The generator includes overload protection. Keep the normal combined load within its 700W rated output and account for appliance start-up demand. If an overload occurs, disconnect excess equipment and follow the reset procedure in the user manual before reconnecting loads.

Does the Gentrax 800W generator have low-oil protection?

Yes. It includes low-oil protection as well as overload protection to help protect the engine and electrical system during operation.
