Start With the Job You Need the Gear to Do
For a touring setup, separate your needs into power generation and conversion, battery storage and charging, tyre management, vehicle lighting and electrical accessories, heating, transport and storage. This makes it easier to compare products that solve the same problem without treating very different Giantz products as interchangeable.
Giantz Pure Sine Wave Inverters
The current Giantz range includes multiple pure sine wave inverter sizes for converting compatible 12V battery power to 240V AC. The right inverter depends on the appliance load, battery system, cabling and how long you expect to run the equipment.
Check the inverter's continuous output first, then consider any stated peak or surge capacity. Peak output is intended for short startup demand and should not be treated as the normal operating rating.
Match Inverter Output to the Appliance
Appliances with motors, compressors or other inductive loads can draw more power when starting than while running. Before connecting an appliance, check its running wattage, startup requirements and any manufacturer guidance, then compare those figures with the exact inverter specifications. Also allow for the current drawn from the 12V battery side, which increases as AC power demand rises.

AGM vs LiFePO4 Battery Options
Giantz battery products in the range include both AGM deep-cycle and LiFePO4 options. These chemistries differ in weight, usable capacity, charging requirements and expected service characteristics. Choose around the needs of your loads and charging system rather than capacity in amp-hours alone.
Confirm physical dimensions, terminals, voltage, compatible charging settings and any battery-management requirements before installation.
Battery Boxes and Portable 12V Distribution
Portable battery boxes can make a deep-cycle battery easier to connect to common 12V accessories, but outlet types, internal space, connector ratings and built-in features vary by model. Some Giantz battery-box products include Anderson-style connections, USB or car-style sockets, while selected models combine a battery box with an inverter.
Check the battery size and chemistry, cable ratings, fuse or circuit protection and the limits of every outlet before use. A battery box does not increase the safe output capability of the battery or connected wiring.

Giantz Battery Chargers
The Giantz charger range includes models with different voltage support, charge current and battery-chemistry modes. Match the charger's supported battery voltage and chemistry to the exact battery, then consider whether the output current is appropriate for the battery capacity and the time you have available to recharge.
Do not assume every charger supports AGM, lithium and other battery types in the same way. Select the correct mode and follow both the battery and charger instructions.
MPPT Solar Charge Controllers
Giantz MPPT solar regulators in the current range include different current ratings and supported battery-system voltages. Controller sizing needs more than the amp figure on the front: the solar array's voltage and power must stay within the permitted PV input, while the controller settings must suit the connected battery.

Tyre Compressors, Inflators and Deflators
The Giantz tyre range spans compact inflators, higher-flow 12V compressors and a rapid tyre deflator. For inflation, compare airflow, maximum pressure, duty-cycle guidance, power connection, hose reach and portability. Maximum PSI alone does not tell you how quickly or comfortably a compressor will handle repeated 4WD tyre inflation.
For deflation, use the gauge as a guide and recheck tyre pressures with equipment you trust before driving. Adjust tyre pressures to the vehicle, tyre, load, surface and manufacturer guidance rather than using one universal off-road pressure.
Portable Jump Starters
A portable jump starter can be useful touring backup, but peak-current figures are not the only compatibility factor. Check the unit's stated vehicle or engine suitability, battery voltage, clamp instructions, charge state and operating guidance before use. Keep the unit charged according to its storage instructions so it is ready when needed.
Driving Lights, Tail Lights and 12V Switch Panels
Giantz also includes vehicle lighting and switch-panel products with different voltage ranges, wiring layouts, sockets and control arrangements. Confirm whether a product is intended for 12V only or a wider voltage range, and check the electrical load, fuse protection, mounting and wiring requirements before installation.
Trailer tail lights, driving lights and switch panels are different electrical jobs, so do not assume connectors, wiring colours or mounting hardware are universal.
Towbar Bike Carriers and Vehicle Fitment
For Giantz hitch-mounted bike carriers, check the required hitch or towbar receiver size, carrier load rating, number and type of bikes, vehicle limits and clearance around the rear of the vehicle. The carrier's capacity does not override the towbar, vehicle or bike manufacturer's limits.
Recheck securing points before driving and during longer trips, and follow the product instructions for any lighting, plate visibility or accessory requirements that apply to your setup.
Diesel Air Heaters
Giantz diesel air heaters can provide compact heating for suitable touring setups, but installation quality is critical. The exact heater, fuel supply, combustion-air intake, exhaust route, electrical supply and clearances all need to match the manufacturer's instructions.
Keep combustion exhaust separated from occupied areas and ventilation openings, protect fuel and electrical components from damage, and never improvise around hot exhaust parts. If you are not confident with the installation, use an appropriately qualified installer.
Ute Toolboxes and Storage
Selected Giantz storage products include aluminium under-tray toolboxes. Before ordering, check external dimensions, mounting space, door clearance, vehicle structure and load placement. Secure storage to suitable mounting points and consider how added weight affects the vehicle's total load and axle distribution.
Common Giantz Setup Mistakes to Avoid
- Choosing an inverter from peak wattage instead of its continuous output.
- Ignoring appliance startup demand or the current required from the battery side.
- Mixing battery chemistry and charger settings without checking compatibility.
- Sizing an MPPT regulator from amp rating alone without checking PV input limits.
- Assuming every battery box fits every battery or supports the same outlet loads.
- Choosing a tyre compressor from maximum PSI without comparing airflow and duty-cycle guidance.
